Somerset Commons transforms a former storage facility into a vibrant mixed-use community through the adaptive reuse of the existing structure and the addition of two new residential levels above the original first-floor structural grid. The development introduces 62 contemporary residences, a welcoming communal lobby, and flexible ground-floor commercial spaces that activate the streetscape along a major highway corridor. A bold exterior composition of dark metal cladding, light stucco, and vertical wood screening creates depth, rhythm, and a distinct architectural identity while providing texture and solar shading. Expansive glazing, transparent storefronts, and open corner entrances strengthen the connection between the public realm and interior spaces, creating an inviting environment that redefines the site as a modern residential and commercial destination.
